The 20 Question Book Tag!

I want to thank Isabel for tagging me for the 20 Question Book Tag! Be sure to check out her amazing blog. Now, let’s get right into it!

How many books do you think are too many books in a book series?

Eeeeh, I’d say 7. Is that too specific or no? I don’t like how many books are in Rick Riordan’s series(s) but that’s different. With the Percy Jackson stuff it’s all like 1000 actual series and 5 books in each. I don’t know how he has time to write all that but I guess it’s his job?

How do you feel about cliffhangers?

Love ’em. Every time. But only if they end well…. They keep the reader there. Like, sometimes there are cliffhangers at the end of a book, like in the first 39 Clues book I read. (Is that a bad example? That series is like dead to me now….) I remember Amy was in a cave and there was a leopard in it or something. But I remember how I got SO ANGRY because I didn’t have the next book yet so I stayed up all night thinking of the possibilities. I love that feeling of staying up till 3 am thinking about 39 Clues.

Hardback or paperback?

I like paperback because there isn’t that clear plastic around the book that makes so much noise and gets destroyed like what is on hardbacks, but I like hardbacks if I take the plastic off.

Favorite book?

How does one choose a favorite book? I like most dystopia books. Does that show you my personality in 5 words? I like… OH YEAH! I was writing a review on this book called A Mango-Shaped Space that I never published so thanks for reminding me. It’s a REALLY good book about a girl like me with synesthesia. Here’s a page about synesthesia (and I have it.) I’d say that’s my favorite book.

Least favorite book?

I have even more least favorite books than favorites. I don’t even know where to begin. Call me a hater, but I had absolutely no interest in Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone. I don’t like Harry Potter at all, (please don’t kill me 😨) and I don’t like the movies much either. I didn’t even finish it though I tried. And don’t even get me started on classic literature. And Mockingjay (from the Hunger Games series) ended horribly but I finished it.

Basically every book that I’m forced to read is my least favorite. I have good taste or do I.

Love triangles, yes or no?

I’m gonna say no. I don’t like it when there’s something else to focus on in a book or even a TV show. Like, in the episode of Spongebob where his house died and he had to build a new one, Gary was hungry through the entire episode. Then you’re like, oh I forgot about that. I don’t like stuff like that. (And I’m sorry for talking about a Spongebob episode when this is for books, it’s just that my 2 main languages are 1. Sarcasm, and 2. Spongebob terms)

I don’t even care about it, anyway. Like, in the Hunger Games, I DIDN’T LIKE PEETA chip as a person. I hated the ending.

The most recent book you just couldn’t finish?

A book about the evidence of the Bible called Consider The Evidence. My dad gave it to me to read but after getting about halfway through it, I looked at my bookshelf one night and saw the first Michael Vey book. I love the Michael Vey series, it’s so relaxing. (To me at least) So I’m re-reading it now along with a few other books.

A book you’re currently reading?

To me this question means “All the books you’re currently reading” so here goes nothin’:

The Serpent’s Shadow, 3rd book in the Kane Chronicles.

I’m re-reading Hunt For Jade Dragon, 4th book in the Michael Vey series.

Bridge of Clay by Markus Zusak

The Book Thief also by Markus Zusak

Re-reading The Scorch Trials, 2nd book in the Maze Runner series.

Is that too many ☺?

Last book you recommended to someone?

Umm, I think I recommended Carve the Mark to one of my friends a month or so ago, I dunno.

Oldest book you’ve read?

Everybody always says the Bible, but sadly I can’t say that because I haven’t read the entire thing. So, maybe Heidi because it was published in 1880. I highly recommend Heidi if you haven’t read it already.

Newest book you’ve read?

Oh… this is embarrassing maybe? It’s actually The Meltdown in the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series. My mom got it for me to add to my collection, and let me just say: Am I the only one who doesn’t like the new ones? It was okay up until maybe the 10th book. Now it takes more than half the book to get to the description. I think a few books before this one they were filming a movie in the book, and it took until the last “day” or chapter or whatever to get to the plot.

Favorite author?

No. I like Rick Riordan and Veronica Roth equally. Choosing between them is like choosing whether you like Tyler Joseph or Josh Dun more. There’s no way. I feel bad for Josh in the Chlorine music video because he was doing all of the work. Curse Tyler! why did I say that

Buying books or borrowing books?

Buying. Because if you buy them, you have access to them almost any time, and you can put them in my ultimate home library that I want to get someday. Yet… I’m saving my money and I don’t want to buy anything other than Dunkin’ Donuts.

A book you dislike that everyone else seems to love?

Easy. The Hobbit for a single book and the Harry Potter series for a series.

Bookmarks or dog-ears?

DOG EARS FOR SURE! If you open any book at all on my bookshelf, you’ll be sure to find a dog ear crease in it. Whenever I try to use a bookmark, I always FAIL and forget.

A book you can always re-read?

This says “A book” but I’m going to answer with “A series.”

The Michael Vey series. I’m re-reading it now. It’s especially re-readable because I have the first 2 books at home.

Can you read while hearing music?

NO. Never. I can’t really read while hearing anything.

One POV or multiple POVs?

One. I usually write first person books because I always feel as if I’m the character, and if I try to do another POV I end up writing “I” in it somehow. It’s similar for reading.

Do you read a book in one sitting or over multiple days?

Usually multiple days. It takes me about 4 days to read the average 300 paged book. But if it’s like Diary of a Wimpy Kid or something I read it while I’m in the bathroom (TMI or what?) and I’m done by the time I come out.

That’s it! Thanks again to Isabel for nominating me. So I tag:

Kinsey @ Over The Withers

Starling @ Starling

Anna & Pearl @ life without a latte

Ezra @ Ezra’s Ancestors

I’m sorry if you’ve already been tagged for this, you don’t have to do it if you have already.

Enjoy your weekend!
